Monday Minute Video Series

Monday Minute is a video series released by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) designed to assist instructors with the Blackboard Ultra conversion. Each brief video (just a few minutes) is listed below and accompanied by a Solution Center Article when available. Written transcripts are provided as an attachment to this solution article. The CTL will offer face-to-face workshops and open labs for some of the more complex topics. Workshop registration is available on the ATC Intranet. You can follow these directions to register for an upcoming session.

9/9/2024 Video: Using the Blackboard Ultra Template

The Monday Minute: Using the Blackboard Ultra Template video describes how to use the Blackboard Ultra Template for rebuilding Master courses and has an accompanying Using the Blackboard Ultra Template for Course Rebuild Solution Center article.


9/16/2024 Video: Adding Blackboard Ultra Content

The Monday Minute: Adding Blackboard Ultra Content video describes how to add content, specifically a learning module, a document, and a test in Blackboard Ultra. The video also shows from a student perspective how the newly added content appears in Blackboard.


9/23/2024 Video: Pacing Guides

The Monday Minute: Pacing Guides video introduces the topic of pacing guides, shows where to locate examples within the Ultra CODE Faculty Training course, and has an accompanying Pacing Guide Solution Center Article. The CTL is available to assist when developing your pacing guide(s). 


9/30/2024 Video: Simple Syllabus

The Monday Minute: Simple Syllabus video introduces the Simple Syllabus platform, placement in the Blackboard Ultra template, and upcoming training opportunities. For more information, review the accompanying Simple Syllabus Overview Solution Center Article. 


10/04/2024 Videos: Gradebook

The week of 09/30/2024 through 10/04/2024 the college hosted a weeklong event called "Gradestock" that demonstrated how to do the initial Blackboard Ultra Gradebook set up to meet Blackboard minimum use standards, assign grading categories, and push grades from Blackboard to Banner. 10/07/2024 Video: Announcements

The Monday Minute: Announcements video demonstrates how to create an announcement using Blackboard Ultra. The video also shows how to schedule an announcement for a future date and how to send an email copy of the announcement to all course recipients.


10/14/2024 Video: Blackboard Minimum Use

The Monday Minute: Blackboard Minimum Use video explains where the Blackboard Minimum Use Standards may be found in the Ultra CODE Faculty Training course and highlights the components of minimum use for all ATC course types (face-to-face, blended, and online).


10/21/2024 Video: Face-to-Face Blackboard Ultra Set Up

The Monday Minute: Face-to-Face Blackboard Ultra Course Set Up video shows how to use the Blackboard Ultra template to set up a traditional face-to-face course in Blackboard to adhere to the college's Blackboard minimum use standards.  


10/28/2024 Video: Progress Tracking and Forced Sequencing

The Monday Minute: Progress Tracking and Forced Sequencing video demonstrates progress tracking and forced sequencing. The video also shows both of these functions from a student's perspective.

 

11/04/2024 Video: Blackboard Orientation 

The Monday Minute: Blackboard Orientation video shows where students may locate the Blackboard Orientation and introduces the Student Guide to Blackboard where students may enroll for additional Blackboard training. The video also briefly describes ways faculty can use the orientation as part of their no-show assignment.


11/11/2024 Video: Discussion Boards

The Monday Minute: Discussion Boards video shows how to add a discussion board to a course, how to adjust the discussion board settings, and how a student may interact with the discussion board. Discussion boards are an easy way for courses to adhere to Regular Substantive Interaction (RSI).
