Ultra CODE Faculty Training Overview
- What is the purpose of the training – Three (3) goals:
- Explain and support the college’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP): CODE.
- Introduce Blackboard Minimum Use and Quality Matters Standards as it applies to course type (face-to-face, blended, and online).
- Provide/House Blackboard (Bb) Ultra Training Updates.
- Training is provided by Georgia Virtual Technical College (GVTC) from the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG)
- All 22 Technical Colleges in GA moving to Bb Ultra Jan 2025.
- The Ultra CODE Faculty Training course is built using Bb Ultra so that:
- The CTL may experience the Blackboard Ultra rebuild process and be better equipped to assist faculty during the Ultra migration.
- Faculty will see/experience a Bb Ultra course from a student’s perspective.
- Some considerations when completing the training.
- The training is located online in Bb under the “Course” list.
- May have to select “Current Courses” or “Training”.
- NOTE: GVTC Blackboard Ultra training is through GVTC website. Only informational content is housed in the Ultra CODE Faculty Training course.
- Occasional face-to-face and virtual workshops will be offered through the CTL and announced in Bb.
- Every learning module is visible in the course, but may have limited availability.
- Participants progress in order, beginning with “Start Here” module.
- Some modules may have date/time restrictions or be set to open based on performance/criteria.
- For example: A score of 70% or higher is required to move to the next module.
- Hover your mouse over the “Content isn’t available” message under the module title to see any associated restriction.
- Due dates are somewhat flexible and provided more as a guide to help keep faculty on track for the Ultra conversion.
- Some submissions may receive a “late notification”, go ahead and submit as there are no late penalties nor submission restrictions.
- Grades are only used to collect data for the QEP.
- Names are removed from grade data to preserve anonymity.
- Participants must score 70% or higher to demonstrate competency and move to the next module.
- Multiple attempts are allowed and the highest attempt recorded.
- Video scores/grades are based on percentage of the video watched and may take up to 12 hours to post grades to Bb.
- Feedback Surveys are used to collect data for the QEP.
- Surveys are NOT anonymous. Keep comments professional and constructive.
