The Grade Center Lesson Focus

Note: Per Athens Technical College policy, faculty are required to use Blackboard Grade Center in all courses, regardless of course type. The Blackboard gradebook should be updated throughout the semester so students are aware of their progress. At the end of each semester, instructors will use the ILP Grade Push process to submit final grades to the Office of Registration and Records before the published deadline. Distance education courses require more extensive use of Blackboard.

The Blackboard Grade Center is a powerful tool for instructors to record, track and manage student achievement in the course.

After completing this lesson, the instructor will be able to:
  1. Configure Blackboard-created columns.
  2. Create, configure, and delete manual columns.
  3. Create, edit, and delete categories.
  4. Configure calculated columns.
  5. Create, edit and delete grading schemas.
  6. Create and configure grading color codes.
  7. Edit column/row organization and visibility.
  8. Explore and demonstrate an understanding of the options and tools on contextual menus.
  9. Add and configure extra credit.
  10. Push final grades to Banner.
